It has a pleasant punch at low revs, there’s a paddle shifter behind the wheel for extra driver engagement, and all-wheel drive is available to apply thrust to the asphalt in the most effective way possible.
Too bad, bought a new sports sedan and didn’t have the sportiest version. Both the GT1 and GT2 have variable-ratio steering, launch control mode in the transmission, Brembo brakes, and a powerful 368-horsepower twin-turbocharged V6.
The rear-drive example also comes with a limited-slip differential, while the optional all-wheel-drive system for the GT1 and GT2 includes torque vectoring.
It ensures optimal stability and cornering efficiency by finely adjusting the speed of various wheels. Through corners, the outer rear wheel has greater torque than the inner.
The GT2 takes it even further by adding adaptive suspension as standard.

The Stinger’s interior is a pretty good place to spend your time behind the wheel. The driving position is very good. The seat and steering wheel offer decent adjustment, making it easy to find a comfortable position and reach key controls.
The seats are low, and that means it’s difficult for some passengers to get in and out, but the 2023 Kia Stinger gives off a sporty feel when you’re behind the wheel.
The 2023 Kia Stinger feels tighter on the inside than other midsize sedans, especially at the rear. The sloping roofline that creates the Stinger’s slick profile means the higher passenger’s head is less likely to rub against the headliner.
The front seats offer more space, but Kia’s other midsize sedans (including the K5) are better. Visibility is a bit blurry. The rear window is small, and the thick pillars can block your view.

The Stinger includes several standard driver aids and safety features. That includes blind-spot monitoring and forward-collision warning. Most of the features are easy to use and work well.
Kia also includes a lane-centering feature. It’s supposed to keep the car in the middle of the lane, but constantly pull the steering wheel or ping-pong between lane lines. We ended up just turning it off in our tests.
